Description
Begin by reading the first twelve pages from The Colossus of Maroussi, a memoir by Henry Miller in the Lesson Nine module.
Once you’ve read the memoir, go back through the piece and see if you can find one example of each of the four ways of controlling time in a narrative: scene, summary, ellipsis, and stasis.
In a short analysis of about 250 words total, describe how each example functions in the larger memoir: what does each bring to the narrative, and why is each so important in its own way?
