Climate change and population control 3. The relationship between population increases and climate change is a something that has been studied for years. A change in the global climate is now taking place, mainly because of the burning, by humans, of large amounts of fossil fuels- coal, oil, and natural gases. Hite, Kristen and Sietz, John. Global Issues, an Introduction. Sixth Edition, 2021, pg. 204. The increase in population has an impact on the amount of burning that is done and the different changes to climate. The more people we have on earth, the more we are going to use those gases that are changing the climate year after year. One of the main purposes of intentionally controlling population growth is to try and slow the amount of pollutants (gases) going into the atmosphere which is in turn contributing to climate change. Studies have shown that with the increase of population over the years there was a drastic increase in climate change, which is what is causing the warming of the earth’s temperature. One benefit associated with the government or other leadership restricting family planning would be similar to what i stated in question 2, which was it would help to slow down the amount of gases being released into the air. It would also help the earth try to rejuvenate itself and bring its core temperature back down to a somewhat normal level. One of the main problems with the government or other leadership dictating how one can live their lives. Politics play a role in this which would lead to some very negative outcomes.
