There are three options for this 20-22 page paper: a) research study proposal for an experiment or a survey; b) research study report based on interviews with media audience members and/or officials from government agencies or private companies; and c) disaster communication recommendations and plan for an organization. All papers must be wordprocessed, double-spaced, have 1-inch page margins, conform to the required page length (which excludes title and reference pages), and closely follow the style guidelines described in the American Psychological Association (APA) publication manual (2019; 7th edition). Title page, which includes the title of paper and underneath it your names; 1-inch margin on all four page sides; Double-spaced, including the title page and references page (appendix is single-spaced); Page numbers on top right corner of all pages, starting with the title page; Times Roman 12-point font, including the title page, references, and page numbers; Only one character space in-between sentences; First sentence of each paragraph indented; no space (extra line) in-between paragraphs (this may require changing the default settings in your word processing program — under ‘Paragraph’, change ‘Spacing’ for both ‘before’ and ‘after’ to 0, and check the box for ‘Don’t add space after paragraphs’); No bold or capitalization to emphasize a word or phrase in the text — use italics instead; Use centered section (and if needed, left-aligned subsection and sub-subsection) headings; and References, both in-text and on the references page in APA style.
