EEG recordings and analysis.

Published by Brilliant Ravens

EEG recordings and analysis.  For Each (2) Article respond the following questions(3) (separately and labeled)  1. An aspect of the readings (one for each reading) that you found interesting and why. 2. One specific question or thought you had about each of the readings. These can be questions about areas you were unclear on or can be other more general thoughts you had while reading the articles.  3. a rating 1-5 on a subjective scale of your enjoyment and understanding (Just a number you don’t need to elaborate) TOTAL for both of these questions should be about 150 words.  Should NOT read like a traditional essay. Very short and to the point and just to show that we read and reflected on the content.  Very simple! I am just multitasking on short schedule.  No intro’s or fancy transitions; just “One thing I found interesting about this reading is…..blah blah” 🙂 Please —– These are the 2 readings:  Required Methods Article: Luck Book Ch 2: A Closer Look at ERPs and ERP Components (do NOT need to read all!) Required Research Article: A neural basis for expert object recognition. – Here are guided reading questions. Do not need to answer just for help! Research Article:  This article compares variations in brain activity between bird experts and dog experts, when presented with images of dogs or birds.  Think about what you might anticipate to be in the results prior to reading.  What were the factors of interest in the within-subject analysis, and which ones were found significant? How does the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) provide a method of comparison for this study, and what does it measure? How does the N170 effect change based on different stimuli for different levels of expertise? Did the researchers find differences in latency based on varying levels of expertise? What might this tell us about the neural connections in the brain and categorization? How can this study be altered/implemented to inform other areas of neuroscience?
