This is the third and final module on energy issues, so by now you should understand the fundamental concepts of global energy issues, the physical principles of energy in buildings, and how buildings and their energy use fit into the global context. Write a paper describing these topics and examine how architecture—from design through to construction and inhabitation—impacts energy use, and how it can also begin to make a positive contribution to the environment. Your paper should be between 600–900 words (3­–4 double spaced pages). Incorporate diagrams and images to assist in explaining any concepts. Your paper must address global energy issues, energy use in buildings, and architecture’s environmental impact. Research and use publicly available data from sources such as the US Energy Information Administration, data.gov, and energy.gov. Word/page count does not include images and diagrams or heading on paper.
