Make a case for or against such a regulation, relying on the arguments found in John Stuart Mill’s On Liberty. In so doing, you must of course define with some precision what you mean by “hate speech.” (I think that Mill’s arguments can be deployed for or against the regulation of hate speech, but it depends very much on how that term is defined. Regardless of the position you take, identify the problematical issues you have to resolve before proceeding confidently, either in regulating “hate speech” or in permitting speakers free rein to speak.
