Criminal Justice – Spring 2021 Writing Assignment #2 (Response/Reaction Paper)   Format: This assignment will be one-page in length, doubled-spaced, typed, using a 12-point font, spellchecked, grammatically correct, with well-developed thoughts and sentence structure. The margins should be no more than an inch around.  Read one of the articles listed on Blackboard and write a one-paper response/reaction (summarize the material in the article in the first paragraph and use the remainder of the page to record your reaction).   Instructions: Write your full name on top of the paper followed by caption “Writing Assignment #2.” Then write the title of the article you selected in CAPITAL LETTERS and center it. Skip one line and start your first paragraph. In the 1st paragraph, write an informative summary of the article. The summary should allow the reader to get a general sense of all key aspects of the article. Condense the content of the article by highlighting its main points and key supporting points. Use transition statements to bridge each paragraph; Support any general points you make or attitudes you express with specific reasons and details. Statements such as “I agree with many ideas in this article” or “I found the book very interesting” are meaningless without specific evidence that shows why you feel as you do; You may use very short quotations, but do not rely on them too much.
