You are required to write an investigatory business report (2000 words) identifying problems and/or recommending solutions for improvement in the management of profitability, liquidity and/or efficiency of an existing business either from students’ own workplace or a public listed company (PLC). This would be carried out by using Ratio Analysis on the latest data available in the most recent financial statements of the business. Previous data can be used to analyse trends in the data but using only dated data will lead to a failure in this assignment. This is an individual piece of work. The report should be predominately analytical rather than descriptive. The report should include, among other things: ü Introduction – brief organisational background, objectives, methodology, etc. ü Numerical calculations and investigation using Ratio Analysis. ü Data presentation using tables, charts and graphs ü Highlighting problem areas using the results obtained from Ratio Analysis ü Analysing the problem areas in detail by investigating the possible reasons ü Suggesting solutions and recommendations giving references to the available research on the matter (s). ü One -page executive summary – containing the key features and figures of the report. This page must be placed at the beginning of the report with formatting suitable for such reports.
