Your research paper should: • include a relevant research puzzle/hypothesis which you will treat in the paper that applies or investigates one or more of the perspectives studied in this course (human rights, state sovereignty, ethics or public opinionas it relates to a specific migration topic of your choice: • build on class discussion, lecture and readings • not contain extraneous material that does not contribute to the argument • not be a recitation of facts on a particular subject. In addition to a solid hypothesis/research question and good research, these criteria include: • solid essay-writing skills, • proper and consistent bibliographic format and proper and consistent use of citations (you may use any referencing format which includes a year) • original research (i.e. paper should not be based solely upon class readings • proofreading as well as spell-checking
