Discuss the strengths and weaknesses of the Caribbean Reparations Commission’s fight for reparations for slavery from England. Choose the two arguments from the 10-point plan that you find to be the strongest or the weakest and discuss them in detail. Be sure to use sources that speak specifically to the topics being discussed. Sources can and should include historical sources discussing the history of slavery in the region as well as contemporary sources that discuss the lasting effects of slavery. However, your research should go further. For example, if you choose to discuss Psychological Rehabilitation, you should use sources from the field of psychology. If you focus on Illiteracy Eradication, you should use sources from the field of education. Many of the demands made in the 10-point plan cross disciplines, so be sure to use a variety of sources. The main tip that I can give you is to not limit your research to simply sources that discuss slavery, the effects of slavery, and/or reparations for slavery. Your paper will be far more interesting if you choose arguments that touch on an area of interest that you already have and then explore those areas in depth. Doing so will enrich your argument as to why or why not CARICOM makes a strong case.
