Instructions:
After reading the case study in Chapter 2, which describes a 220-bed community hospital merging with a much larger medical center, analyze the situation using informatics-related theories and frameworks.
In a 3–4 page, APA-formatted paper, respond to the following:
1. Diagnosis:
Use at least two theories or frameworks from the chapter (e.g., Lewin’s Change Theory,
Kotter’s 8-Step Model, Systems Theory) to diagnose the problems presented in the case. Be sure to analyze from multiple stakeholder perspectives (e.g., clinicians, administrators, IT staff, patients).
2. Recommendations:
What actions would you recommend to your colleague in the case (e.g., the CIO or project lead)? Support your suggestions with the same theories you used in your diagnosis, demonstrating how your recommendations align with effective organizational change in health informatics.
